Alan Hanson to coach at Barbados Sports Camp
The Barbados Tourism Authority has revealed football legends Sir Geoff Hurst, Alan Hansen, Mark Bright and Peter Shilton will be coaching at the Barbados Sports Camp 2008.
They will join international cricket stars Gladstone Small, Mike Gatting, Desmond Haynes and Gordon Greenidge alongside England netball players Olivia Murphy, Alex Astle, Kendra Slawinski and Maggie Jackson.
Football, cricket and netball will be coached free of charge to children attending the camp from August 5-29. Each sport can take up to 100 youngsters, with children divided into different age and ability groups. The camp is being held at the University of West Indies sports ground, just outside Bridgetown.
Barbados Tourism Authority European vice-president of sales and marketing Petra Roach said: "We are thrilled the Barbados Sports Camp is returning for a second year, giving children the skills and motivation they need to excel in their chosen sport. Once again it is a pleasure to have such esteemed sports stars coaching the children and passing on tips about what it's like to play sport at the highest international level."
To participate in the Barbados Sports Camp, parents should sign their children up via the website at visitbarbados.org/sportscamp. The site also provides more details about the camp and its star coaches.
