The aim of the BFF initiative is to increase visitor arrivals to Barbados by rewarding members who encourage people to travel to Barbados. Members of the BFF will earn points for each visitor they have referred. Points will be awarded on air travel to Barbados, as well as for accommodation in hotels and guesthouses.

Prime Minister Thompson told the gathering, his government wanted to develop an initiative that would honour the loyalty and patriotism of Barbadians living all over the world; allowing them to do their part in encouraging visitors to come to Barbados and be rewarded for their efforts.

Following the launch of the BFF Club, Prime Minister Thompson took questions from the audience and he also presented awards to Barbadians who successfully completed a training programme to be Ambassadors of Barbados, essential criteria to be members of BFF Club.

Prime Minister Thompson finally presented a Barbados wood carving to the local Reading Barbados and Freinds Association for their contribution to Barbados and the local community.

While in Reading, Prime Minister David Thompson was interviewed by Lousie Chandler, BBC Radio Berkshire Presenter / Researcher. Read Louise's article and listen to the interview here>>>
